Bio

Our Birth Center is located in beautiful Winter Park, Florida. Inspiration Family Birth Center provides premium birth center and home birth care in Central Florida. I am a Florida Licensed Midwife. I am also a certified EMT, and spent years as an EMT, volunteering for the Fire Department in the early 90′s. After becoming pregnant with my first baby, I was hooked on pregnancy and birth and I started my career as a doula in 1995. I became a Certified Doula and Childbirth Educator, and began teaching others the nuts and bolts of being a doula while attending mothers and families in labor. My love of birth grew quickly and I became licensed as a midwife. I am honored to have attended hundreds of births and delivered many (600+) of those beautiful babies.

I have been married 24 years to my wonderful husband Bill, and we have 4 children. Bobby is 19, TJ is 16, Chris is 13 and Marisa is 11. Both Chris and Marisa were born at home in the water. My philosophy of midwifery is that birth is normal, natural and should be surrounded by family and friends in a calm and peaceful environment. I strive to create a birth plan that is tailored to your needs as a laboring mom. I can be as hands off or as hands on as you are comfortable with. I am quick to step in should an emergency arise however, and pride myself on you and your baby’s safety. As a home birth mom myself, I have a unique understanding of the intensity and beauty of birth, and the need of a secure, knowledgeable voice to guide the journey.
